Beatrice Emily is an experienced costumier and cutter specialising in ladieswear. After graduating from the University of Hull in 2014, she has gained her knowledge and experience working throughout workrooms within Sussex, London and the South.

What we do
At Beatrice Emily we cater for a wide variety of productions and every project is different, with its own demands and details.
Starting with the designer’s specifications, Beatrice will start by discussing the design with the designer, the thoughts on the character, the technical and the creative ideas.
She will work closely with you, checking that every intricate detail on a bespoke costume is as you want it, referenced from the design or brief you have provided.
Beatrice will then decide whether to start cutting the pattern flat on paper, or draping calico on the stand.
The transition from design to finished garment is accomplished with a mixture of skill, speed and flexibility.
Beatrice can create modern and period ladies’ costumes and can work with a broad range of fabrics, periods and styles.
After the prototypes or toiles are approved, we then create the final garments.
If a project needs a different skillset Beatrice will politely decline.

Where we work
Beatrice is based within an hour’s train journey to all London Theatres and within a two-hour drive of all the main London Studios.
Beatrice is happy to travel wherever the job takes her and will come to you for design meetings and fittings, whilst cutting and making all the garments from her own workroom, based in Hove, East Sussex.
She will come to you on set, in your own studio, or on location where she will cut and fit costumes, as well as oversee the production of them.
Beatrice prides herself on accuracy, precision, professionalism and her attention to detail. She can fit, cut, make and alter any costumes as required, while bringing her exceptionally high standards to all of her work.
